Had a 3 course Sunday lunch which was absolutely awful. French onion soup was the consistency of lumpy gravy, tasted of Worcester Sauce, had no grated or melted cheese on top and was served with a chunk of stale white bread. Had to ask for soup spoons. Main course of roast beef: Yorkshire pud & roast potatoes were inedible. Asked for water which never came. Cheese board served without knives or butter. Service dreadful, but worst of all...charged £25 per head! Will never go again.

Good Points: Manager and staff very friendly and helpful. Good quality breakfast. Bad Points: Shower screen in bathroom did not fit tightly enough to stop water leaking onto floor General review: Very good

having read one review on this establishment i find it hard to imagine we were in the same premises. we went there on a recommendation . There was four of us in our party and I , for one, am extremely fussy when eating out.The meal was fantastic, the service excellent, the staff were the best I have come across in many a day . overall as far as the food is concerned it was a lovely evening and we shall most certainly be going back. Our visitors were over from Ireland and what a joy it was for all of us. Thank you to one and all.

Web site looked good, 4 AA rated and stated luxury rooms but it was awful. The rooms were very basic but extremely dirty, floors not hoovered properly, kettle covered in dirt as were the window sills, sides and insides of draws. The bathroom was great if you dont mind sharing it with the previous peoples hairs!, soap also still in shower cubicle (also hairy!), holes in the lino and toilet filthy. The towels were dirty and thread bare and the towel heater didnt work along with a couple of lights in the bedroom. The bedding consisted of one sheet and a very thin holey blanket! The Land lady ended up not charging us for the stay and I cancelled my next booking. The breakfast was very poor and no option for vegitarians and no effort made.Coffee was undrinkable and the beans burnt! Definately one to miss.
