We are not in the habit of writing reviews but we just felt compelled to do this after reading the review written by Michaela Matthews, which we totally disagree with. In the last year, we have visited the Thatch for meals on a regular basis (at least once a month). Sometimes we have dined during the day with our children and at other times in the evening with friends. I have got to say the food and service at this pub is absolutely brilliant. The children's menu is more than adequate and we have never had a problem. They very happily made something for one of our children that we asked for but was not on the menu. All of the meals we have had have been excellent quality and the staff are all lovely. It is one of our favourite places to dine. This is not just in our opinion, it is also reflected in how busy the pub is, as people always return! Anne & Steve Harris.

Food, beer and service all excellent! We have dined at this pub on a regular basis (at least once a month) since it went under new management around 12 months ago. We have visited with our children during the day and also with friends in the evening and have been more than happy on every occasion. The food is excellent (home cooked) with plenty of choice and the staff are brilliant. Highly recommended!

The Thatch Inn Pub in Faddiley near Nantwich was our favourite pub to eat, We had enjoyed Christmas lunch, many a special occasion & taken special close friends to eat there in the past, we had not been lately due to moving, but as we were in the area visiting Alton Towers for the day, then staying at our caravan at Manor Wood Park in Coddington just up the road from Faddiley we decided to go for a meal We were extremely disappointed with the whole experience The food was of extreme low quality, the children wanted pizza (no pasta on the menu) when it arrived we should have sent it straight back, It was a very cheap frozen supermarket low value standard, which I would not even pick up and buy, My starter arrived I had ordered Mushrooms on wholemeal toast with stilton sauce, well you could not see anything as the whole starter was covered entirely with the sauce, the toast was burnt, the sauce was nice, mushrooms were ok Stephen’s starter was ok but just ok, When we were asked by the manager if everything was ok I mentioned the quality of the children’s food and wanted to know why there was no pasta option for them, she said she would speak to the chef and come back to us, she went off and just kept avoiding us and the chef didn’t come out either Next the adult mains came out, as the boys were still very hungry they asked if they could have some of mine, I had ordered Salmon & Cheese Pasta, as I started to find the some suitable pasta for them to eat, I started to eat mine but found it to be swimming in grease it was very heavy and I just couldn’t eat it, Stephen ordered Thai curry when it arrived it looked more like a cheap jar Indian version not a homemade Thai, the portion size was also poor When we were asked if everything was okay I pointed out that mine was clearly swimming in fat and was not fit for eating, the manager told us that they had never had any complaints before but some how I didn’t believe her, I asked her if they had had a new chef no she replied, but then I remembered that The Thatch Pub had been taken over a year ago and very clearly the standards have dropped, she made absolutely no apologies at all, not even an offer of Ice cream for the children in compensation or an offer of coffee to make up for my meal her whole attitude was appalling, so I asked her what she was going to do about meal, she said she would sort something out she appeared 10 minutes later with our bill saying she had taken 10% off, we told her that this was an insult for all the faults we had encountered reminding her that we had been very regular customers until we moved areas in an earlier conversation we told her we were planning to book for Easter Sunday as we were back in the area again visiting friends, so I spelled out all the faults with our meal several times telling her that I was getting angry, she then turned around and asked us what we wanted, as she had pushed us to the point of anger we told her that were were not prepared to pay for the bad meals (2 children’s & 1 adult meal) but we would pay for everything else, the manager then turned around saying `is that how it works` meaning we had gone in intentionally just to get a free meal, we were now shocked & insulted and I was on the verge of just walking out, Stephen told her that was a very cheap shot, we had gone in for a good quality meal with excellent service but found neither we were so disappointed The Thatch had always been a bit pricey but you don’t mind paying if you get good quality homemade food & a great service and staff who listen, after another round of telling her how bad the food was off she went to sort out the bill again, then called us to the till to pay, this time she had undercharged us, I felt the need to remind her on how bad her customer service & attitude was, we paid and left with her closing the door firmly behind us as if to say that we were not welcome again, Well she has no worries on that one, even in these credit crunch times people still expect good quality food when the go out, I strongly advise against The Thatch Pub in Faddiley standards have very clearly dropped dramatically since the new owners have taken over Michaela Matthews

This is not a review. Thatch Inn is no longer open at lunch time in the week. A shame as the food is second to none

Beer average, fish under cooked. Thursday promotion: two fish for £10. I thought three may have cost £15. Wrong, the third was £8.95. I thought that was mean, so we won't go again.
