Green Dragon Reborn A good value mothers day lunch meant a visit to a newly revitalised Green Dragon in Haddenham was required! Having been to this restaurant-cum-pub several times and watched its temporary transformation into the Welsh Wok on "The Restaurant" we were intrigued to see if the new owners had kept the good value, no fuss, authentic food and drinks style. We weren't disappointed. Service was fast and mostly efficient. Starters averaged £5 to £6 each including fried squid - much better than an average pub but a little rubbery and not quite up to Raymond Blanc's level nor his prices! Main courses were well presented and cooked, all the way from Butternut squash risotto to my pork with crackling and an excellent firm and tasty cod with great chips, which went down well with the kiddo. Desserts did not match the quality or variety of the other two courses - a lack of choice combined with a dried out sticky toffee pudding left us feeling the Green Dragon could do more here. An instant apology and the pudding in question removed from the bill, followed by a decent cappuccino, helped remedy this. Considering the place was full, we give the Green Dragon the thumbs up and a good 7/10. Total bill for two starters, five main courses and two desserts including a glass of wine / beer each, came to a reasonable £98 for 4 adults and 1 child. We'll be back for more.
