Good Points: food quality a good standard Bad Points: No customer service when checking in. Ladies toilets in bistro - no handwash and no drying facilities which were reported Sat. lunch. On Monday during breakfast nothing had been dealt with and I had pointed out the problems on Saturday. The shower in our room was so old fashioned that we could not get a proper shower. General review: Whipper Inn has the making of a lovely little hotel but there is something wrong with the management who do not train their staff in very basic customer service.Overall our stay was not the most enjoyable weekend we have had. The only great thing was the glorious weather in Oakham.

One of our party had a baby and were given the room above the dance floor where a live band were on until midnight - the noisiest room in the hotel. Cracked ceilings, flaking paint, tatty furniture. No hot water in the morning. Dreadful. Sent complaint to Brook Hotels head office by registered post + e-mail - didn't even get the couertesy of a reply. First and last time I'll stay there.
