It is always a pleasue staying at Rowley Manor. The staff are extremely obliging, the food is excellent, the rooms clean and the 'old world' atmophere, most charming. This may not be the most 'up-to-date' hotel but I have stayed in many that are which are clinical and lacking in any atmophere and warmth. I would always choose Rowley Manor above these other hotels.

We have just returned home after attending my son & new daughter-in-law's wedding, the reception of which was held at Rowley Manor. All the staff at the hotel made us feel welcome and were very helpful, nothing seemed to be a problem. Having to travel to the wedding we asked if there was any way that a room could be used for us to change in, the housekeeping staff made sure our room was ready by 11am, much earlier than the usual check in time. Our room was large and well decorated, the furniture is not the usual mass produced kind found in most hotels but is all older individual pieces that added to the charm, everything was clean and comfortable and we would not hesitate to stay here again. (We understand that the hotel is currently updating the rooms as they can and not everyone can stay in the rooms that are finished.) The food served at the reception was excellent, hot & plentiful and well served by polite pleasant staff. We have also visited for sunday lunch and received the same welcome, service and quality, we will be visiting Rowley again and am sure things will keep getting better!!

Attended a wedding and stayed at Rowley Manor. The public areas are nice with character and staff for the wedding were helpful. A number of guests agreed that the bedrooms are shabby and dated, I looked at a number with some being much bigger and slightly better decorated. The room we stayed in, was a small double, the carpet was dirty with used contact lenses and general dirt (you needed slippers to walk on it). The bed had seen better days and creaked if you dropped a pin on it. The bathroom was cramped fairly clean but in much need of a facelift. I would put the standard of the room on a par with a cheap B&B. In the morning the staff knocked on the door (at 8.10 am) to say good morning, in other words they wanted us up for breakfast and checked out early, to prepare the rooms for the next wedding. Even when we got back from breakfat (which was fine) to finish packing, they walked into the room expecting that we had already checked out (which we did at 10am). I wouldn't stop again, I'd rather pay for a taxi home and collect my car the next day.
