Good Points: Attractive public areas and garden Very good breakfast served in pretty dining room Pleasant location Digital TV has excellent reception and lots of channels to choose from Bad Points: The room is a bit cramped, being mainly occupied by a four-poster bed with limited space around it, and the decor(woodchip and artex in salmon pink and eau-de-nil)cries out for refurbishment. The bathroom is technically ensuite but you have to walk down a short corridor and a flight of steps to get to it. The bathroom is huge but the space is not useful for anything (why don't the management just knock a wall through to create more space in the bedroom?) There is no hook for your dressing gown in either the bathroom or the bedroom. The shower screen opens inwards so it is impossible to operate the temperature control until you are actually in the bath and the shower flow is very feeble. General review: This is a good place to stay if you do not mind being out of town and do not plan to spend much time in your room, but a bit of refurbishment would lift it into a higher category altogether.

Good Points: Attractive, clean, comfortable, quiet, all in all just the ticket! General Review: This hotel is very welcoming, offers peace, quiet, excellent accomodation and a superb breakfast. The location on the edge of a very quiet village is quite beautiful. Would recommend to anyone who wants to get away from it all, but still be in close proximity to centres such as Bideford and the north Devon coastline.
