Good Points: Courteous helpful staff/good breakfast/close to city centre/quiet/ Bad Points: some furniture/ fitting very faded/e.g.window frames rotten and windows v,difficult to get open/ General review: Very pleasant apart from unfortunate ignoring of my prebooking request NOT to be moved from one room to another during my stay Would certainly come again.

General review: We enjoyed our stay and found the area quiet and convenient. The staff was cordial and helpful. We also dined at the hotel restaurant and found it good although poorly advertised. Our morning breakfasts were more than adequate. I would be happy to stay there again.

Good Points: The staff made the hotel good, they were extremely helpful, the rooms were clean too. But it was all so very old and tired. Bad Points: Shower curtain - terrible colour, loo roll - nasty, loo too close to towel rail, floorboards very squeeky, lots of noise from corridors' florboards, no lift, poor parking facilities, poor presentation of breakfast, cheap soap bars General review: I would not stay at that hotel again. It's possible to stay at a Marriot for the same price where standards are very much higher. Why don't you stay in room 202 and then compare it to a room at a Marriot? Then you'll see what I mean.

Good Points: Friendly staff. Historic building. Excellent location. Attractive drawing room, and well-equipped bar.Lovely view from window. Bad Points: Horrible, inescapable 'musak' in bar and lounge, often hisously inappropriate to otherwise civilised deco and ambiance. Shower room very cramped. General review: Very pleasant. Would pay a little more for a bit more space.
