Good Points: Bedroom clean, warm and comfortable with quality feel to bedding. Cooked breakfast was first class. Bad Points: No major issues though overall the accommodation section of the premises is very badly in need of re-decoration. General review: I chose this hotel so that I might sample and enjoy the Shepherd Neame beers. This I did and I did enjoy them! Overall, warm and comfortable and food freshly prepared to order. But, no homemade steak pie available at 8.30.pm on a Thursday evening. There is no reasonable excuse for running out of fixed menu items. Was given visibly short measure on a pint of Spitfire so I placed it back firmly on the bar. Bar staff toook no notice until I raised the point with them several minutes later. Young bar staff gauche and not switched on to customer service. One unable to properly work the cash till system. Little eye contact - no smiles. No personal service feeling. (These comments do not apply to Reception service in the morning.) At this stage, I would not recommend this hotel but I would be prepared to stay there again in my own right Why can't service staff in the UK be taught to approach and deal with the customer base as per the Logis chain in France for example?

Good Points: Bright and breezy. Lovely fresh towels daily (if required). Very good cooked breakfast. Bad Points: More detailed information about local transport services would have been helpful. General Review: A functional hotel with off street parking in a lovely quaint village. Good clean accommodation and very good breakfast, cheerful staff and lots of local information about the local area.
