We booked for 4 nights and specifically asked for a room with a window seat because we were concerned about soft seating in the evening. (There are no easy chairs in the bar)On booking we were told that we would have room 2. When we arrived we were given another room which was small and dark and above the bar (noisy) and without a soft window seat. We decided not to stay as the noise was terrible and the room poor and not what we were told we would get. They charged us for the one night and took our deposit on top of the cost of one night saying we did not stay as booked - but neither did they provide the room we booked. So they are not very customer focused or in my opinion fair. Also there is no car park. Would not go anywhere near the place again.

i visited this inn whilst staying in the CRown and Mitre just down the road. it is advertised as dog friendly but the manager certainly isn't. we had a 14 year dog and a 9 month old puppy with us, both are well behaved, and had no problems as the inn was completeley empty on our arrival, but when a resident guest joined with her 3 dogs and her dogs started to growl, we became unwelcome with the manager, in fact he virtually threw US out and said we wouldn't be welcome again until our dogs behaved. The guest tried to explain it wasn't our fault but he didn't listen. would not visit if you have dogs
