Having had the Carlton George Windows Restaurant recommended by a friend in Edinburgh, we decided to give it a go. Up to the seventh floor in the lift, where you are greeted by very friendly and knowledgeable staff, and also a great view of Glasgow skyline. We had the £16.95 pre-theatre dinner, which, for three courses was unbelieveably great value. My mother had the goats cheese, a beautiful wedge of warm gooey cheese served on a bed of salad, and not overly strong. My partner had the mixed fruit, which resembled more like a dessert than a starter..she didn't know whether to eat it or photograph it. I opted for the honey ham which was lovely. For mains, mother had the fillets of sea bass, my partner had the fresh veg pasta, and I had the spring chicken which was cooked to perfection. Melanie, our waitress was great, and an asset to the restaurant. All this was washed down with 2 bottles of Sancerre, this made a beautiful way to relax before going to a concert, so much that we've booked again for when we return to Glasgow in a few weeks. Go. You'll love it.
