It was the coldest winter for 30 years. We ducked and dived whenever the cold got to us. We headed for the Black Swan and sat near the roaring log fire and looked back on a great few days in jorvik. The excellent saga and song night, the world of warfare event and jorvik viking festival were a hit! We missed the battle practice at the museum gardens this year but look forward to it next year. The festival walk was really interesting and looked at the old city of jorvik and saw how it had shaped modern york, really good value for money to! The maltings pub sold big fat chips that filled you up and were good value to! Theres a good second hand book shop on Fossgate for viking books near a great pub called the Blue Bell, well worth a visit.
