we stayed at the Marlborough as part of a coach pbearingarty.curb appeal for this hotel was non existant with paint peeling, and generally looking grotty compared with surrounding hotels. on a positive note, the staff were very friendly, service in dining room was very good, and the food was also of a very good standard with varied menues. the room itself, along with the hotel is in need of a serious overhaul, expecially the bathrooms, the shower was nicknmed a trickle shower, because that was all you could call it. bearing in mind it was only a two star hotel, it was value for money, i would use alfa travel again, but not to this hotel.

would never stay in this hotel ever again, went on a coach trip with alfa and was not impressed. the roof leaked in all over our bed, there was mould in the bathroom and on the bedroom wall, manager was rude to guests, they had buckets/tubs on the stairs where it was leaking in which is an health and safety issue. wasnt much option on menu and they did not meet customers needs who asked for something different so we ended up going around the corner for food which cost us more than it should of done. would not recomend it one bit, we went across the palmerston hotel across the road for a meal which was lovely and the staff were really friendly and we enjoyed it in there that much that we are goin there next year.

I took a group of 40 people to the Marlborough for a 'Turkey 'n Tinsel' week-end. There was not one complaint! It was excellent, the hotel was clean, the food good and hot, the service and friendliness of the staff were outstanding. Excellent value for money. I would certainly recommend it.
