This hotel is everything that the Hawkshead / Lake district experience should be about. The hotel has had a change of management, and what delightful people they turned out to be. The room was perfect, overlooking one of Hawksheads squares ! The dining room was nice and not to crowded. The bar with its open fire was friendly and welcoming, in fact it made you not want to venture out ! The staff ( most) are foreign studying here , they all spoke good English and where helpful friendly and polite. The food ( mostly local produce) was excellent as was the local beer !!! Car parking is provided. Overall top notch and good value for money. If you look closely it may be possible to see scratch marks coming down from the four poster bedroom door way down the stairs and out the front door ........... they where left by my wife when we had to drag her out the day we left! ;-) Ralph & Di
