Four of us stayed for three nights. We had the Tower Suite and bishop's room. The Tower suite was very different and great fun - especially the outdoor Jacuzzi. The Bishop's room large and airy with a really splendid four poster. We also saw two other guest rooms, which although smaller, were still very nice. Breakfast was fine, although a wider buffet selection would have been nice. Dinner on both Saturday and Sunday were both excellent. The owners and staff were all very pleasant and the atmosphere informal and relaxed. The guests were all very pleasant, a really good mix of ages and types and easy to get along with. A real bonus was that our rather lively Boxer, Bruno, was made very welcome and had the run of the place - he was even given some steak! This place is much more like visiting a friend's country house than staying in a hotel, which made the whole experience very relaxing. On the downside, a few touches such as bottled water in the bedroom would have been nice and would have made the whole place seem rather better value. Although the place was clean, it was a little flaky around the edges and would benefit from a little smartening-up here and there. However, that said, we all had a thoroughly enjoyable stay and we would stay again.

Hotel has much potential and loos great on the WWW. Reality is that its musty smelling, tired and in dire need of some TLC and an injection of quality service.
Rooms are tired with old tv's on rickety tables, towls hang from makeshift rails (old curtain poles and metel brackets), dirty rugs and carpets and stained brochures adorn your rooms.
No tea or coffee making in your room, not even a bottle of water - want more pay more. No service in hotel after 2245 which means no drinks, no food.
The welcome we got was far from friendly from the arrogant pompous gent who signed us in.
Has much potential but needs bringing into the 21st century in terms of cleanliness and standard of service. Stuck in a time warp (and in dont mean victorian charm, I mean 70's medicroty), stay here if an evening in Bath's fawlty towers would delight you!
