Upon walking past the Salisbury store on Monday jan 4th in the window,a vax wet/dry vaccuum cleaner for £79.99P.I Returned to buy next day to find thehe sign inside at £89.99 .I enquired if it was the same one vaccuum as the one in the window, the lady politely went to find out and i was asked to show where I had seen the sign.A young man bought a hoover from outback, they rang it up £79.99.I was told the till was cash only and had to pay at the other one.I thanked the customer there for waiting patiently whilst i did so ,the lad put the hoover up on the counter making a point that they did not have a bag big enough and handles were on the side.He could have offered to open the door After taking it home and tested it as a wet washer,it was not suitable even for my hard floor,a fine dust came out the back.I made sure everything was packed away in as new/dry condition having not used the hoover tools, bag or filters. I phoned vax ,no answer just you are 23 in the queue ,so decided to lug it back to the store when it was safe enough due to the big freeze.I was prepared to recieve advice.Upon getting there a group of youths were by the door as a member of staff looked out. I bravely asked a youth to open the door for me he did so willingly .Three staff stood by as i said about the dust ,I put the vaccum on the counter to be instantly shouted at by Mark the manager,"What are we meant to with second hand goods"When i did not answer he carried on shouting till i felt tearful ,he shouted "i didnt say we wouldnt take it back what do you want to do,swap it ,do you have a receipt."I apologized for being so silly that I found taking things back nerve racking and that I had got it ten pounds cheaper. He made puzzled faces and abruptly wanted me to tell him what i wanted to do .I said"a refund please"
He then said card ,put a slip on the counter which I filled in.I looked at his badge to see he was the manager, poor souls who work there.
