Good Points: I was given a free upgrade of room which was very comfortable and had all the necessary fittings and fixtures.
Bad Points: Nothing really.
General review: The facilities were excellent. Staff were very friendly and helpful and the food in the restaurant was of a very high standard.

My new husband and I stayed at the Balmer Lawn Hotel - for our wedding night, which is situated in Brockenhurst in the New Forest. It was a wonderful hotel and we received excellent service. The facilities in the hotel and around it were excellent. There were so many activities available. The food was very good, and of a very high standard. We were so pleased with the decision that we made, and will definitely go back. This is a great New Forest Hotel. It would have made a great wedding venue, but unfortunately it was already booked for the day we wanted.

"Polite and efficient staff (except when checking in), charming enterance, grounds, facilities",When checking in we were explained about any facilities - had to proble. Breakfast wasn't great - small cooked breakfast and not as nice as what the New Years Day brunch was (quality dropped off noticably!)

"The squash courts, gym, sauna, whirl pool and swimming pool. The restaurant was excellent",Took a while to be checked into our rooms,For a one night break break it had everything we were after

"excellent food, good parking, excellent location","no information available on local walks or attractions,room gloomy with no view","The hotel is ideally located to visit the New Forest attractions although the hotel could provide no information on these. The two swimming pools looked very inviting but unfortunately, we had not taken our swimming costumes. Dinner was excellent with a very interesting menu and a bar meal on the second night was just as good and a little less expensive. Our room was spacious and nicely decorated with all facilities but it was dark and looked out onto other rooms. Apparently, some rooms have views of the forest."
