This is a fantasic museum! We participated in a "real" trial and had the very scary experience of becoming prisoners. Each person is given a convict ID so that you take on the name and character of a Victorian inmate. The whole visit is interactive with some brilliant actors taking the parts of judge, barrister, jail overseers and matron. I would thoroughly recommend this museum, though it would be too scary for small children and there are a few narrow/steep stairways and low roofs to negotiate.
