Coventry Cathedral is a fascinating Ecclesiatical Building and an Architectural Mix. It is a fantastic place to visit and like no other in Britain. However, I think it should be renamed 'Coventry Cathedral Quarter' as Coventry actually has 3 Cathedrals and a huge Church all in 1 location! Firstly it has the remains of a 3 spire Cathedral that the BBC time team unearthed. Secondly,it has the peaceful remains of St. Michaels Cathedral bombed in WWII and thirdly it has the Cathedral designed by Sir Basil Spence and was voted Britain's best building of the 20th C. In addition there is a Tudor wall Painting in a Church of Cathedral proportions which is undamaged by the WWII. These 4 sites mean it should be accurately refered to as the Cathedral Quarter. Try and get sent to Coventry!
