Absolutely fabulous place to stay. A brilliant building. We phoned and at short notice arranged to arrive the night earlier than we should have and at midnight in darkness. Automatic lights lit our way to our roomy and welcoming rooms. 2 travel cots had been provided and the apartment was really quite toddler friendly. Had a sleep in very comfortable beds and awoke in the morning to stunning views out of each window. Our toddler loved exploring the grounds and the empty fountain. The surrounding scenery is really stunning. The house is amazing with a fantastic hall staircase and chandelier. Rooms were really clean and finished to a very high specification. Managing to blend the old with the new very well. Owners were easy to contact and very helpful to us during our stay. The surrounding villages are very pretty and shops are only a 20 min drive away. We loved the place and were very sad to leave. We will be back.

We didn't enjoy our stay at Staffield Hall. We found the apartment to be quite out dated and not particularly clean. The wireless internet advertised consisted of a wireless hub three floors below our flat meaning we did not get any reception at all. The television was tiny for the room and the grounds are really very limited to a non functioning fountain. Wouldn't go back.

We found the service at Staffield Hall to be absolutely appauling. Despite giving our booking over the phone and then confirming it by email, they got our booking wrong. We were forced to leave the residence a day before we were meant to (which was my birthday so we didn't get the booking wrong on the phone as the manager accused us of!). They then charged us for a night that we weren't even there! We were very reasonable and left the residence as soon as we found out about their mistake and still they were very rude and refused to refund us for the extra evening. Truly awful service, Avoid!

I have just got back from a weekend at staffield hall and have to say the staffield hall website really does not do this place justice. It is extremely well done out with automatic lights throughout until you get to your room ( via a beautiful staircase for us ) When we opened the door to our room we couldn't believe the size of it. We stayed in the dove cote room which was right at the top. Turn left when you enter and you go into the bedroom, which is a good size and had a huge very comfy 6ft bed. The bathroom was a good size too, and the whirlpool bath was so relaxing after a long day out. The living room/ kitchen is also a very good size, the kitchen has everything you'll need and the views from the living room were excellent. The only downside really was that there wasn't really a pub in walking distance. We found the path at the back of the garden that was supposed to lead to kirkoswald but the field was too muddy to walk on and there was no way I was risking walking on the road! But they have tv's and dvd players in the room and a selection of dvd's downstairs that you can use. Would definitely recommend this place and would love to go back again. Well worth the money.

Having stumbled across Staffield Hall on the internet, I am delighted to have the opportunity to write a review. My family and I stayed in Manor Hall, the largest of the self contained apartments.I contacted the owners Michael and Marie to discuss my family needs prior to booking as I required a downstairs property with facilities for my wife's elderly/infirm parents. I have to say that they were extremely helpful and a pleasure to deal with. Staffield Hall and the grounds are very impressive with quite stunning views across the open countryside. Manor Hall was everything and more than we could of wished for, It really is like living in your own stately home and no expense has been spared in this apartment, it is superbly equiped with quality furnishings throughout and with meticulous attention to detail. The owners should be justifiably proud of Staffield Hall and I would have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone looking for somewhere special to stay for a luxury romantic break or even if you are just looking to spoil yourself. Regards, Nichola & Andy Nattress.
