Having been a customer for the past 8 years I am very disappointed in our vist tonight. Having been a regular on the guineau pig nights and the early bird evenings we have become used to the friendly staff and the good food. Tonight I ventured for the lamb casserole which I had had on an early bird previously. At that time, it came with vegetables (plural) and potatoes and two dumplings it was deliciousl. Tonight it came (grizzly) lamb, 1 vegatable and no potatoes and one dumpling. I did bring this to the attention of a gentleman, small balding with glasses. I did it away from the table as it was busy and it would have seemed inappropriate. It was not the meal as such that has made us think we will not come to the Shibden again but his manner. Condescending, his response was that the meal does not come with anything other than what was shown on the menu. When I pointed out that on the early bird it came with potatoes and veg, and the meat was of better quality he said "that was a taster" I'm sorry but if I pay £8.95 for a superb meal I would expect that when I pay twice as much I could expect the same. He said if the meat was grizzly I should have returned it to the kitchen. We waited 55 minutes to get the meal our son had an engagement at 8:30 was I supposed to wait for another 10-15 minutes? My gripe is not wholly with the meal yes I was very disappointed but my main concern is with the way the matter was treated and the fact that he was walking off as I spoke to him. And before anyone thinks I was looking for a disocunt on the meal I was not - just someone taking on board that the meal I received was not of the standard that we have grown accustomed to when we come down.
