The Greyhound was an unexpected treat. It fully deserves the honour of a Michelin star as the food was divine. My starter of the trademark fishcake was amazing and I will find it extremely difficult to discover another such delight. The waitresses were prompt and polite, not afraid of engaging with all of their customers- which was no mean feat as the restaurant was almost full. This all meant that although the meal was a little pricey it was well worth it and i didn't hesitate to leave a tip for the outstanding service. Overall, i would highly recommend this restaurant and i would come from almost anywhere for another such meal.

We had booked our table way in advance and were very excited about visting this michelin starred venue. We should have known as soon as we walked in that it would be a disappointment, the place was not even a quarter full on a Saturday night at 8.30pm. In contrast, the pub across the street, The Three Tuns was heaving. I have never disputed optional service charges and having waitressed my way through university will even pay for meidocre service, I won't pay for bad service and we experienced possibly the worst I have ever encountered. Shame because the food wasn't bad. Interestingly the table next to us also thought the service was dreadful. A real let down, I won't go again and am perplexed as to why it merits its michelin star status.

We stayed at the Greyhound hotel and i must admit the room was lovely - really cosy & comfortable. The same praise however cannot be given to the restaurant.Where to start ? the service was appauling One of our main courses was inedible. No-one came to ask how our meal was so we could not complain or get it replaced. On collecting the plates at the end no - one asked why there was 1 plate that was untouched & only when i complained was the matter taken to the chef who passed back the message that there was nothing wrong with it ,the final insult was that the said dish was charged to the bill ( it was until i removed it ) breakfast was much better although the service was again really offhand and i felt really sorry for the poor bastard on the table behind who was getting nowhere trying to negotiate getting a breakfast after turning up 5 mins late It appears the staff here really do not enjoy serving the public although i feel this will not be an issue for much longer !
