We have just come back from yet another visit to this wonderful restaurant, having had the most beautiful meal - as always!! We discovered this "hidden gem" about three years ago and it has become our first choice for all those special occasions - birthdays, anniversaries, etc. From the moment you walk in, you are welcomed and treated as special guests. The atmosphere is gentle and warm, with attention paid to all details. As for the food - well, the only thing I can say is WOW!!!! A 3 course set menu for only £25 - with the most amazing cheese soufflé I have ever eaten - cheaper than many pubs yet matching standards with high quality, expensive hotel restaurants. Ryan is a fantastic chef; every single dish we have ever had has been superb, both in presentation and taste! His ingredients are of the highest quality, as are his culinary skills. Can't wait to go back again - the sooner the better!

I have been to Le Chanterelle a few times, and every time, I have been impressed and delighted by the food, decor and service. I have recommended it to various friends who in turn loved it, and recommended it to others. It is perfect - the tables are not too close to each other, the table linen is crisp and the atmosphere relaxing. The food is wonderful - not too ambitious, but beautifully prepared, and cooked with flair.

This restaurant is a wonderful find. The decor is light and the staff pleasant and courteous. The chef gave us wonderful food which was well presented. Two of us had 3 courses each at a set price of £35 per head. More costly than other restaurants in the area, but boy it was well worth it as we couldn't fault any of the dishes.

Visited with friends and enjoyed a most delightful meal in a period beamed restaurant. The food will stand comparison with most of the best London restaurants but the cost is strictly of provincial standards. The chef is responsible for everything set before customers, including bread rolls, all sauces, icecreams, sorbets, canapes and petit fours. Food is freshly sourced on a daily basis from local suppliers. Services is attentive (but not overbearing), prompt, efficient and good humoured. All in all a memorable experience and one which must be repeated soon. This establishment and its chef demands wider recognition.
