Husband and myself booked for one night stay via laterooms.com. Got a fantastic deal on the room. Visited the hotel web page and was thrilled to see such a lovely hotel in a lovely location, right next to the Abby. Facility's included hotel bar and french restaurant- perfect as this was our first night away in years. How disappointed i was to find the hotel not at all what was advertised. On our arrival at the front door, we were greeted with a mountain of cigarette butts discarded at the front door, along with empty beer cans thrown around also tea cups left to fester on the garden tables. Entrance Hall..... was dirty and the decor left lot to the imagination- Baby's high chair was also located in the main entrance, and looked like a complete hazard to health, absolutely filthy. No reception-so self check with door codes, this wasn't explain at the time of booking.Hotel Very run down and un kept. Not a three star Hotel more along the lines of faulty towers. Reception, Bar and Restaurant were all locked behind closed doors and completely none functional. Stair carpet and walls Filthy Arrived at our room door- Had to double check that this was the correct room as the door looked like the assess to the linen cupboard. Entering the room there was an eye watering smell of bleach hiding a multitude of aromas. Stain on the carpet, broken blind, blood on the bed pillow under pillow case. No bathroom door. No soap-thankful for the toilet roll although i was more than reluctant to use the toilet. general grime all over- nasty. This room also advertised it could sleep 3 people - another room was found via a door from our main bedroom- completely filled to the brim with junk and a complete heath and fire hazard. Please read this review and save yourself a very disappointing stay
