General review: It was a nice stay. The area around the hotel is really beautifull and quite.

We were not very impressed as when we arrived we were told they had no record of us having reservations, despite me ringing them to tell them we would be arriving late and them saying yes fine we will note that against your reservation!!! The hotel did an excellent breakfast and room service was great, the staff were all very pleasant. The hotel seemed scruffy not fresh and we thought it expensive for what it was.

The Hotel was warm and comfortable, and a welcome shelter from the November weather! Our room was clean and comfy, and spacious by many standards. It contained all the necessary utilities, and was serviced to a high standard. The staff were friendly AND helpful, and in the restaurant were discreet when required. Snow blanketed the grounds, but what we could see looked well tended and tempted us to book again for May when the weather might be more ameniable. My only cause for concern was our door handle (and several others we noticed) had a weak spring, and hung down over the lock. This required it to be held out of the way while the door was unlocked - a difficult task if you were carrying anything!!

The hotel has a warm, friendly and relaxed atmosphere. The bedrooms were spacious and immaculately clean and tidy. The quality and choice of food served in the restaurant was impecable and could not be faulted. What really made the stay pleasurable was the helpful and friendly staff. They are on hand to meet any requests and absolutely nothing was any trouble. This hotel is a perfect location for a quite weekend break and I would highly recommend a stay at this hotel.
