Review of Bodelwyddan by caroline on July 10th, 2010
my father was posted to kinmel camp in bodelwyddan in 1959. in 1961 he was de-mobbed. my parents bought a bungalow in the village, but in 1965 my mother died an untimely death at the age of 39. she is buried in st margarets church. 2 years later we moved to the midlands. i,m now glad to be living in wales again. i have some good memories of bodelwyddan as well as painful. but how it,s changed. the thing i least like is that A55 cutting through the heart of the village, very sad. the castle looks splendid, i remember it as lowther college. my brother,s girlfriend went there . she was the vicar,s daughter. i could go on and on.

Castle Grounds and location 5***** stunning. Although the internet is misleading. To view the castle you need to pay a reduced entrance fee of £3.00 pp.
Entertainment 4**** very good.
Food 2** Carvery selection and presentation very poor but Service 4**** very good but restaurant reminded us of a herd of cattle - tables too close together people sitting almost on top of each other.
Accommodation (Patio Room) 2** Room was very dusty - thick dust on curtains, valance and wardrobe. Was cleaned on complaint and then felt comfy. Bed 4**** clean and comfy.
Bathroom generally shabby - two tiles off skirting - glued on after reporting situation.
Swimming Pool & Spa - lacked sparkle 3*** Generally disappointed - expected more - appears to cater for coach parties (3 were staying there at the time) and 65+ age group and not couples seeking a romantic break for two.
We were offered a free bottle of wine but declined - all we wanted was a break in line with the internet picture of this Warner Break.
