If you asking for a place to visit and remember My vote goes to Bridgenorth in Salop.Its buildings throw history in your face,which are mostly black and white and the local markets that are there on Saturdays have to be seen to be believed,but I think that the one thing that makes the whole scene so great is the timeless river Severn running so serenely and sometimes so violently through the part that is known as Low Town.I have seen the flood waters cause havoc,but nothing seems to bother the people of the town.Believe me,it is a place you will remember.

A fabulous place to stay !
Stayed here for over two years as a contractor working in Birmingham.
Acocks Green train station is 3 minutes walk. A large Sainsbury’s is less than 15 minutes walk or 5 minutes by car. Take away food places are 2 minutes away in the high street
The conservatory is a great place to spend your evenings so you not tied to your room
There’s a kitchen guest area in the dinning room with a guest fridge, microwave and kettle.
Large car park at rear of property
The place is very clean and tidy and the food is excellent.
The canal is 10 minutes walk, great for walking or biking

we had a great time at this loaction, my husband is from albrighton and we spent a weekend there for a family reunion, the accomodation that we had was great and we will be using this again. You are in an ideal location and if you have a car it is accessable to various areas of interest. Be prepared to eat out,whilst you have a fridge their is only a microwave/grill available for cooking. There are loads of restaurants, pubs and take-aways with local convenience stores available within walking distance.

Bilston is a good place to live. There are many places to visit, like McDonald’s & chip shops. There is a
church in Bilston called St, Leonard’s where people go to pray. There is a marvellous park called Hickman park where children go to play, you can also have a stroll in the park. There is a pet shop in the town that sells wonderful animals.

Bilston is full of good food places like, Mc Donalds and Majors chip shop. There is a super market in Bilston with lots of stalls on a Monday, Thursday, Friday and Saturdays. There are lots of stores in Bilston including Peacocks. There is a Butcher’s opposite peacocks. We have a lovely church in the middle of Bilston called ‘St Leanords’. In town there is a pet shop and a wonderful park. Near the brilliant art gallery there is a police station opposite the robin 2. Bilston is a great place to live.

Bilston is a very nice place because there is a library which is also an art gallery. St. Leonard’s church is a nice church. Children from Bilston C of E primary school go to sing there. Every Wednesday Bilston C of E primary school goes to the leisure centre to swim. There is table tennis and lots of things to do in the leisure centre. In Hickman park there is a nice flower garden.

i have read some of the pevious reviews and i dont agree, the tower now refurbished looks great nice and fresh. the people there are friendly. I havent seem any rudeness from the bouncers in fact i was there on saturday 20th December and i was laughing a joking with one of the bouncers while we were waiting for my taxi. The atmosphere was great. I do agree with some of the reviews prices of drinks are a little expensive and you know i am sure that the manager can make some changes in the future. It would be such a shame if we were to loose this place again as it has a big dance floor, these people who are trying to bring it down, let me tell you come to the towers and see for yourself its brillant.

Coventry has an abundance of interesting places to eat and drink. For instance, The Chace, in South Coventry is a former Doctor's house with huge paintings inside and ornate victorian fire places. There's also, The Windmill village, in Allesley with a cellar and views across the golf course and lake. Dick Turpin is alleged to have stopped here on his way from London to York. If your looking for something more modern then the old Fire station,(just opened 2007) Priory Place and the Skydome have lots to offer. Browns Restaurant is in an art deco style and has a rooftop terrace overlooking the Cathedral Spire. For a coffee, the Godiva tea rooms offers an underground medieval experience next to the historic Guildhall. A little known gem of Coventry. For fantastic countryside views around Coventry then the Old Mill, Baginton, near Coventry Airport on the River Soar is idyllic. The Quicken Tree, in Fillongly village also offers beautiful views near George Elliot Country. Brandon Hall near where Keeping Up Appearances was filmed offers stately splendor. Coombe Abbey is a very romantic place for a meal with a moat around it and landscaped gardens. Overall, Coventry is a fascinating place to visit if people leave their preconceptions of it behind and are prepared to travel around the city and suburbs.

gi'day from christchurch new zealand.I'm an ex pat smethwick kid now living in the garden city of christchurch,heart of crusaders rugby,so far removed from the baggies,or anything remotly resembling civilization.about a year and a half ago I returned after 49 years in exile far away
from my heritage and all the stuff that reminds me of who I am.In new zealand I'm a pakeha as iam so often reminded .I don't think for a moment
any one has a clue to what it means to preserve
items of heritage the old pumping station at the bottom of brasshouse lane.I remember it well
as a young boy going to visit my nan and grandad
who lived at No 24,Claris and Frank Bourgoyne
or going with my dad and grandad to see West Brom at the Hawthornes.
My dad worked at the Birmid until we left England in 1968,when I CAME BACK i found the place no longer exsisted,along with the District
works,needless to say Smethwick had changed.
I was very impressed with the museum which I understand used to be a pub,selling mitchell & butlers bitter.Nice to see the blue gates pub
atill standing.
W as also very impressed with Galton bridge station,and dear old Rolf street station still
standing after so many years.It was still great tocome home after retracing my steps you have a
fantastic set up I WAS IMPRESSED would love to come back again with my very kiwi girlfriend

I recently stayed at The Manor House on the Wednesbury Road in Walsall. It was a very large victorian house in need of a little tlc but was the most warm and friendly B&B i have stayed in for a long time. The owner's made you feel like part of the family as i stroked the hotel pet dogs Major and Yoshi. We all had such a good laugh in the lounge swapping stories with guests from around the world! I would definitely recommend a visit if ever you are in Walsall.

I am 23 and have lived in Wednesbury all my life. I must say that even though it's not the busiest place in the West Midlands, it is very pleasant. You are respected wherever you go, and you can really enjoy yourself.
Wednesbury has various public houses, one of which my father drinks in, The Village Inn, in Alma Street. Bitter costs £1.88 a pint, Foster's being £2.20 a pint. It has musical entertainment on every Saturday in the Bar. The Village Inn is owned by Peter Herbert and his girlfriend Maxine.
Wednesbury has rugby and football teams which have won leagues. There is also a cricket ground in Wood Green Road, just 2 minutes from J9 of the M6. Wednesbury cricket team has been the leading team in the West Midlands Premier League for 3 years or so.
I would recommend Wednesbury to all who have never visited before.

Large,friendly village.
Virtually no crime or nightlife.
Extremely white and midlle-class...could be the setting for the Stepford Wives.
