Winslow, Buckinghamshire

Review of Winslow by Florence St Laurence on May 18th, 2008
While the staff at the hotel were quietly efficient they were largely unfriendly. We wondered why no one smiled in Winslow... We soon found out... At 8pm a band started playing in the george pub 10 yards across the narrow street. It was still playing reggae music when we decided to pack our bags and leave at 1:30 in the morning and the pavement outside was crowded with smoking and shouting drunks. We even noticed the unmistakeble smell of cannabis as we passed them. Winslow seems a nice town but there is a recklessness about it that will stop us from ever visiting or staying again!
