The Waltzing Weasel closed for business on 2nd January 2006.
It was re-opened by Brian Jordan and John Sanderson on the 3rd March this year. Prices have been reviewed, menus changed, and a greater selection of Real Ales and excellent wines at affordable prices Starting at £12.50 for 6 choice wines. But you can also find a 1967 port at £49.95 per bottle!!
Special offer breaks seem excellent valus throughout the year. Also good Jazz on the first Thursday of the month and Wine and Dine Theme evenings once a month - even a chance to buy your own supplies of featured wines on these special evenings.

Buxton Tuesday Market do not have 50+ stalls the local Council have stopped providing the stalls, only a dozen stalls now bother to set up. your information is misleading.

I think that Buxton is a great place to live because of it's Landmarks and its water. but I think Buxton should try and put more things for kids and teenagers to do because if there isn't anything for them to do, then they get bored and might do bad things and vandalise shops and other things etc..
Overall, Buxton is a great place to live!!!

Clowne, Derbyshire

Derby is the UK's most central city benefiting from the best of both worlds - a great cultural base situated on the edge of the Peak District National park.
Derby is famous for setting in motion Britain's Industrial Revolution with some of the countrys first factories and spinning mills. It is equally famous for later factories of Rolls Royce, Royal Crown Derby and Railway engineering. The thriving City centre boasts an excellent range of entertainment venues, attractions, pubs, restaurants, parks and open spaces.

hi i have been living in glossop for about 5 years now moved up from london and find it a much better place to bring up kids etc i live in hadfield and find it a very nice place to live the only comment i would have in a bad way is that on a friday and saturday night there are gangs of kids in and around the clubs and pubs who seem to come out for a fight every time so be wary.

Review of Hope Valley by Jeremy & Janet Wilkes on September 1st, 2008
We are former natives of the district, having left for different pastures many years ago. We visit twice a year for the scenery, which still retains its magic for walking, viewing or doing whatever else you may wish to do. We use b & b accommodation and have found just a few which are of the highest quality and value. Our only comment is that a number of establishments - pubs providing food, sandwich shops and the like which are very expensive and give poor value. They are in danger of pricing themselves out of the market

how well l remember long eaton in 1959 I worked on the market right on the front alf hickman was my boss but also my aunties father we would travel from nottingham to long eaton every market day rain, snow ,freezing,or blowing. my husband myself and our children came to western australia in the late 60s we came back to the uk in 72yes we moved into oakleys farm the slaughter house for the co-op was at the end of our garden the other side was the elastic factory i dont remember its name i think they made under garments we moved back to australia in 74 but still talk of people over there if this should go to print teresa ,kevin,karl,are my ofsprings maybe gail jackson as she was then? and stephen casswell were friends they went to long eaton school

Review of Matlock by val nixon on August 27th, 2007
We have just arrived back from a lovely weekend stay at Alison House.
The gardens and grounds were delightful and very relaxing, lawn croquet, walled garden, and quite pituresque areas for reading, all with excellent views.
Breakfasts were a good choice of healthy alternitives, plus, plenty of choices from the cooked items.
The room was extremely spacious, with excellent views from all 3 windows, very clean and furnished to a high standard (although we were only in a standard room) and good value for money.
The staff were very helpful and courteous.
There was also a selection of fruit to chose from in the library, along with many books.
Our main purpose of stay, was a relaxing one, which was achieved, above and behond.
A definate choice of return in the future.

Very good resturant,service first class.Had a great meal there caters for parties too they tell me. Price a lot less than many resturants around. good value I do commend it. On our list now.

Review of Shardlow by jane preston on August 27th, 2006
Shardlow is a quiet village ,there are several good pubs serving decent meals , the Navigation was very good .The canal and river are pretty and provide good walking . We camped on the marina we found this site to be of a poor standard a busy Bank Holiday weekend meant there were at least fifty plus tents in addition to caravans . The toilet and shower block were shabby and dirty , the shower facilites and toilets were inadequate to cope with the number of people on site,to add insult to injury we had to pay 50p for the privilege of showering . Needless to say we only ventured in there once W e had the luxury of the portaloos near us these were changed once but in between were not checked .Ok I am not a die hard camper but I do expect a certain level of cleanliness and standard of facilities .On a plus point there is a bar restaurant on site and I can t fault that it served good food at a reasonable price .To summarize Shardlow Marina needs to invest in prviding decent shower and toilet blocks and hire a cleaner .

Review of Wirksworth by Catherine Hill on August 24th, 2006
Spent a week's break in Wirksworth. Although I HAD heard of it (through George Eliot/Adam Bede - though not personal conact with her), location chosen purely at random. Great pubs and (without exception) lovely people who made us very welcome for the entire time we spent there. Great Guinness in almost every pub (fairly unusual) and local ales a delight. Shame they're being taken over by Greene King.
