I used to think this lovely little village was a nice place to visit and relax in. However, due to the new unruly, shall we say, newcomers to this once civilised country hamlet, I shall not be passing through again, as I feel they have lowered the tone rather a lot.

Review of Corsham by nick on October 17th, 2007
Corsham is a small wiltshire town with a population of approximately 11,000. It has lovely mellow stone traditional cotswolds buildings in its centre. The Great Western Railway runs through the town and Corsham Court, home of the Lords Methuen, is well worth a visit

Wake up devizes, there is nowhere in your town where you can get a decent Vodka Martini!
At the Bear Hotel on Saturday night we were told, they have no Martini glasses, they were all smashed in the stock take, all of them!!
We were offered a vodka Martini in a half pint glass!
At the Castle Hotel they had one Martini glass, so we shared a Vodka Martini, it was made to the ratio of a Gin Martini, with a black olive from the kitchen, it was disgusting;
To all the barstaff in Devizes, here is the recipe for a Vodka Martini:
1 1/2 ounces Vodka
1/2 ounce dry Vermouth
Stir with ice. Strain into a chillled cocktial glass. Garnish with a lemon zest, or a green olive.
To all the bar managers in Devizes, order some cocktail glasses and train your staff.

second chance caravan park is a lovely little park right on the river thames with some realy good walks and cycle rides around also very close to the water parks we ate at the red lion pub and the food was wonderful the people who run the park are lovely we had a very nice stay and will be going back in the future

Ogbourne St George is a lovely small village, 4 miles from Marlborough. It straddles the Ridgeway trail and has superb access to many walks and trails.

Purton, Wiltshire

Purton is a small village on the outskirts of swindon. It is ideal for commuters as it is near the m4. The locals are friendly and there are various community events. It is also steeped in roman history with many ghosts being reported in the older buildings.Which brings me to "The Ghost Train" public house which has just re-opened under new management. Locals can tell of many ghosts that haunt the pub. Hopefully in the future they will have ghost searching sessions. I work in Purton and during the summer months the surrounding countryside is a joy to behold. The Ghost Train also has a large garden with childrens play area and b-b-q which is ideal for families to enjoy during the summer months. See you there

RARE BREEDS FARM CHOLDERTON
I have three children aged 11,10 and 3, we have been visiting this farm since the eldest was 2. Our visit this summer was very disappointing. There were very few animals there, more goats than anything else, the ones that were there were very aggresive if you had a bag of food, some of the smaller children around were distressed by them. There were pigs, but I have to say that the state of their pens was pretty appalling, no where for them to wallow, just a small bucket of water for drinking. We saw no sheep, or cows, just a couple of donkies. The state of some of the pens beggars believe, the broken pig fences coggled together with twine, the pig covers need attention, many of the pens which house the chickens need a good weed and the pens are in need of repair. The dispensers which contain the dry anti bacterial handwash were all empty, we did mention this to the girl in the admissions office. I expect that they had been empty for some time because not a drop came out of them dispite vigourise efforts on our behalf. I can see that they are in the process of making some improvements which are long overdue. When an attraction is advertised as being a rare breeds farm you expect a little bit more effort to be made, more info on the animals for example. I doubt as it stands that the attraction would make a short list of nominees as tourist attraction of the year.

salisbury is a nice place to visit but i wouldnt want to live there the people were friendly enough but its not driver friendly, the park and ride is good value but if you drive watch your licence im no speed freak but i still felt very paranoid there are cameras everywhere, the police really enjoy their work, even setting up extra mobile traps, on one occasion i was looking for the cameras so intently that i didnt notice when the road changed from 30 to national much to the chagrin of the local behind me, being a pedestrian is a bit dodgy too ive never seen a town so packed

A real find. Food such as lobster salad or hake and chips; lovely courtyard areas with gorgeous flowers in bloom. Restaurant area, pool table, couple of armchairs. Two lovely cats, Toffee and Pepper run the place.

Review of Wootton Bassett by Valerie Reed on September 29th, 2008
Used to live in W.Bassett in1980-1985 and have recently visited on 2 occasions. Good to see some of the recent developments in the High Street. However the lack of dining facilities in the town on a Saturday evening rather lets the town down. We did have a nice meal earlier in the day on the Friday at Delicia's which I believe has only recently opened. Well done to them they deserve to prosper and will be an asset to the town. We were able to fall back on the long established Sally Pussey's Inn as fortunately we had our own transport. Fond memories of the town and enjoyed re aquainting myself with it.
