Leigh Woods, Bristol

Leigh Woods is a National Trust site located in Avon Gorge, near the city of Bristol in England. Spanning 490 acres, Leigh Woods consist of a mixture of grassy pastures and areas of woodlands made up of a variety of different trees, including oak, small leaf lime, ash and rare Bristol whitebeam. The area has been designated a National Nature Reserve and a Site of Specific Scientific Interest (SSSI). Leigh Woods serves as home to peregrine falcons, ravens and a vast array of butterflies, including the white-letter hairstreak. Leigh Woods is the site of an Iron Age hill fort and offers great opportunities for walking and hiking.
