for Fordcombe Fete and Flower Show as your favourite British event.

The quintessential summer fete. Over 2,500 visitors are expected to visit the fete in this picturesque village close to Tunbridge Wells.

Little has changed since Fordcombe's first fete in 1946, with the focus on traditional family pursuits. The fete was first started by the British Legion after World War II, and has since become a part of the village calendar for over sixty years.

The fete has retained its unique charm with something for everyone - adults and children alike. For the kids of all ages there are Punch and Judy shows, a bouncy castle, a Gladiators‚ inflatable, an owl display, toy and sweet stalls together with a selection of fun sideshows. Adults can enjoy the vintage car display, dog shows, dance displays, children's races and still have time to wander round the stalls offering, bric-a-brac, books, jewellery, paintings, bottle tombola and crafts, whilst sampling the wares on offer including a beer and wine tent, ice-creams, teas and coffees and a BBQ. Other stalls will be taken by Produced in Kent suppliers, with a range of delicious local produce. There will also be a village cake stall so that you can purchase cakes to take home at the end of the day.

The fete also includes a vegetable and flower show in the village hall, with the local villagers displaying their produce, together with home made jams, cakes and breads etc. The categories will be judged on the day and winners announced before the grand raffle draw. Visitors will also be invited to buy tickets to enter this raffle with fabulous prizes.

There is plenty of free parking available in the village, so visitors won't have difficulty getting near to the fete. If you're thinking of staying a bit longer and including an evening meal to end the day, the village is also home to The Chafford Arms, which features in the Good Pub Guide, and has lots of seating outside with stunning views across the local countryside.

Entry fee is £1 per adult and free for children under 16.
