Not since Tom and Barbara Good decided to go back to the land and turn their Surbiton home into a self-sufficient farm-cum-allotment has Britain been sowing, planting and harvesting with such enthusiasm. Concerns about food miles and excessive packaging, and a hunger for more organic produce, has prompted more and more people to either grow their own or take advantage of the many fabulous farmers markets across Britain.
