Latest review - Outstanding family day lots to see and do weather was a bit iffy but thats Scotland ...More

The festival will offer live music, spectacular jousting, battle re-enactments, medieval villages, historical characters and much more… The centre piece of the day’s entertainment will be thrilling battle displays from the famous ‘Red Crow’ jousting team, featured in epics such as Braveheart, Gladiator and King Arthur. Alongside them will be one of Scotland’s top re-enactment groups, ‘Clanranald’, who will recreate a medieval encampment. Piping and drumming sensations, ‘Saor Patrol’ will be performing, with living history group ‘ Medieval Methil’ displaying a tented village together creating a truly authentic taste of past culture. A Craft Fair will surround this arena where famous figures of Dunfermline will be on hand including Andrew Carnegie, King Charles, Queen Margaret as well as King Robert the Bruce himself who will be knighting children and inviting them to join his army. ‘Strathleven Artizans’ will be displaying hand made artefacts fashioned from ‘Bruce Oak’ adding to this unique and engaging atmosphere. This exciting insight into medieval life in the wonderful setting of Pittencrieff Park will last from mid-day till 4:00pm. On this special occasion the event is entirely free!
