for ROSE WEEK as your favourite British event.

Sudeley’s famous Rose Week is fast approaching with a host of events taking place to celebrate the glorious display in the award winning gardens. The Queen’s Garden at Sudeley is a truly wonderful and rare example of an English Rose Garden entirely managed using organic methods and principles. Throughout the summer months the garden is a riot of colour with over 800 modern and old roses, intermingled with bulbs, herbaceous and annual plants creating a breathtaking display. Described as the ‘Most Romantic’ garden in the UK by the Times, visitors have the opportunity to find out more about the gardening methods and future plans for the gardens by taking a Guided Tour with one of Sudeley’s Gardeners. Tours will be taking place from Monday 18th to Friday 22nd June at 11.30am and 2.30pm daily. There will be exhibitions of work from artists, photographers and florists throughout the week, plus a number of special events: Wednesday 20th June CLIMATE CHANGE – WHAT’S THE FUTURE FOR GARDENS? Guest speaker – Matthew Wilson, Curator of RHS Garden Harlow Carr Well know gardening personality Matthew Wilson will be giving a talk on Climate Change and how it could affect gardens and gardening now and in the future. With climate change headline news and hardly a day passing by without the impact of carbon emissions and their potential impact being dissected, what is the future for gardens and gardening? In his talk Matthew Wilson will discuss the issues facing gardeners today and in the future. Will the great British lawn become a thing of the past? How can we be more water efficient? What plants are suitable for our changing climate? Matthew will also highlight how gardens can positively affect climate change, through carbon reduction by using local plants and materials, recycling and water harvesting and input reduction, and also how gardens can help to preserve the many species that are threatened by the greatest challenge in human history since the last Ice Age. Guests at the talks will also be able to enjoy a glass of wine whilst having a wonder around the Castle Gardens, and enjoying the beautiful floral displays and gardens on show. The RHS Growing for Success talk takes place at 5.30pm, repeated at 7.45pm, with a drinks reception from 6.45 – 7.30pm.
