for Steam Days as your favourite British event.

Our volunteers have rescued and restored 30 old stationary steam engines which once powered the cotton mills and woollen mills of the North of England. Most of these will be running on steam on our current open days and admission is free; for current dates consult our website www.nmes.org or phone 01204 846490 as the Museum is normally closed at other times.

Our oldest engine is nearly 150 years old, and most engines are over 100 years old.

The Museum address is Bolton Steam Museum, Mornington Road, off Chorley Old Road, Bolton, BL1 4EU. We are on the site of Morrisons Atlas Mills Supermarket on Chorley Old Road. There is unlimited free parking on the Supermarket car park.
