Born 1889 - Melbourne, Australia. Died 1946 - British poet and music critic.

First collection of verse The Hunter and Other Poems (1916). Literary editor of Daily Herald, drama critic of London Mercury and music critic of New Statesman. Other books on verse included Marigold (1926) and Fossils of a Future Time (1946). Wrote over 15 plays, only two both published and performed. Wrote number of studies on composers. Creator of Collins’ series Britain in Pictures.
