Served in RAF on both world wars, awarded the Air Force Cross (1920). Wrote for individual talents such as Ralph Lynn, Robertson Hare and Tom Walls. Works include A Cuckoo in the Nest (1925), Thark (1927) and Plunder (1928) Last work was the comedy The Bed Before Yesterday (1976).
