Born 1877. Died 1958 - English aircraft manufacturer.
Studied naval engineering at King’s College, London. Built his first biplane in 1907. Formed A V Roe & Co in 1910, known for its Lancaster and Vulcan bombers. Sold out and formed Saunders – Roe to build flying boats at Cowes.
