Born 1800. Died 1882 - English theologian and leader of the Oxford Movement.

Educated at Oxford, became a Fellow of Oriel College in 1823. Expert in biblical languages and criticism. Ordained in 1828, a renowned preacher. One of the leaders of the Oxford Movement. Encouraged the revival of Religious Life within the Church of England. His contemporaries founded Pusey House and Library in Oxford in his memory.
