Educated at Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge. Editor of Chums and Cassell’s Magazine. Wrote many historical romances including Queen of the Jesters (1897), Captain Black (1911) and The Mad King Dies (1928). Founded the London School of Journalism. Published biography of Lord Northcliffe (1922).
