Made her debut in The Little Revue (1939). Performed in concert parties at military hospitals during WWII. Appeared in revues during the 1950s. Performed one woman shows including Joyce Grenfell Requests the Pleasure. Starred in many well known films, including the St Trinians. Best remembered for her monolgues, songs, and comic writings. Published her autobiography in 1976.
