Born 1924 India -Died 2008 English industrial executive.

Served in the navy until 1956. Joined ICI and was Chairman from 1982-87. Created and presented Troubleshooter, a successful television series on business. Chairman of the Policy Studies Institute, of the British Institute of Management, and Chancellor of Bradford University. Has seven honorary degrees and has written a number of books. Knighted in 1985.
