Born 1908. Died 1992 - English actor.
Studied at RADA. Stage debut in Dr Syn (1928) in Margate. Established his own summer theatre in Cornwall. London stage successes included Oscar Wilde (1936) and Pygmallion (1937). First film was Marie Antoinette (1938); others included The African Queen (1951) and Beau Brummell (1954). Published collections of observation including A Musing Morley (1974) and The Pleasures of Ages (1988).
