Bronislaw Malinowski

Died on 16th of May 1942
Born 1884 - Krakow, Poland. Died 1942 - A founder of modern anthropology.
Studied physics, mathematics, psychology and sociology. Left London for research in Australia in 1914 but was confined to Trobriand Islands (near New Guinea). Pioneer of “participant observation” as a method of fieldwork. Best known works are those on the Trobriands including Argonauts of the Western Pacific (1922) and Crime and Custom in Savage Society (1926).
