Born 1864. Died 1929 - Scottish architect.

Set up architect’s office in Edinburgh in 1892. Built or remodelled around 50 country houses including Marchmont in Berwickshire (1914). Public works included Thistle Chapel in St Giles, Edinburgh and the Scottish National War Memorial (1923-28). Restored many castles, mansions and churches including Paisley Abbey and Dunblane Cathedral.
