Quotes from Al Murray

'I dont understand the French. '... More

It is not easy to reconcile Al Murray’s Bedford School, St Edmund Hall Oxford and officer-class-aristocratic family background with his pub landlord stage persona, though the quick-fire improvisation that forms a significant part of his act hints at a very ready intellect. Murray won the Perrier Award at the Edinburgh Fringe in 1999, the fourth year in a row he was nominated for it. In the 2015 General Election he stood against Nigel Farage of UKIP as the candidate for the wickedly spoofing Free United Kingdom Party, though gaining rather more coverage than support.
