Born 1963 - English musician, former lead singer of Stone Roses.

Joined his friend, John Squire’s band, The Patrol which evolved into Garage Flower becoming The Stone Roses in 1984. Noted for his wispy, raspy, and throaty singing style. Since the band’s breakup in 1996 he has released five solo albums including Unfinished Monkey Business (1998) and The World Is Yours (2007). Presented with the Godlike Genius award at 2006 NME awards. Lifelong fan of Manchester United.
