Douglas Scott
- Favourite Briton.

Born in Lambeth, London
Born in 1913
Died in 1990

Scott was one of the great British designers of modern times, responsible for two of our most celebrated industrial icons, the Routemaster Bus of 1947, and the Aga cooker (or more accurately, the redesign of that product) in 1938. He was noted for the practicality of his designs, making them for the market as he put it, rather than attempting to make them things of beauty, their functionality however making them in the end beautiful objects.
