I am a Rooke and descended from Admiral Sir George! My Grandmother was a Rooke and we have Sir George's diary from when he captured the Rock of Gibraltar in 1704 along with other Rooke family memorabilia!

From my research in Canterbury I have found that Admiral Sir George Rooke did not have any grandchildren. His only child, also George Rooke died childless in 1739.Perhaps Pauline Askew is descended from one of Sir George's brothers - either Captain Thomas Rooke (d. 1701) or Finch Rooke (d.1696). My interest is in Charlotte Rooke (born 12.8.1796) who married James Parker (born 12.3.1799)

I am George Rookes Great... Grand daughter and my family live in New Zealand. Our family have his sword that was brought over to New Zealand on the George Seymour ship that was captained by Leonard Rooke. The sword has been handed down every generation to the eldest in the family along with the family book.
