Alfred Mason

Mason was educated at Dulwich College and Trinity College, Oxford. He served for one Parliament as a Liberal MP (for Coventry), and worked in counter-intelligence during WWI, but his calling was writing, as both a playwright and a novelist. His most famous work is the oft-filmed Four Feathers, but At the Villa Rose with the fascinating Inspector Hanaud is a far superior read.
